Baby Monster Scaredy Carrot:
Too afraid to try, but too afraid not to try.

Why is my pillow moving?

My pillow is moving.
My pillow is moving!
My pillow is moving?
Why is my pillow moving?

I paid lots of money for a quiet pillow,
so I asked it,
pillow why are you moving.

And you know what the pillow said?
It said. "uh mhh"

So I asked it again,
Pillow why are you moving?
"Uh mhh"
You're not supposed to be moving.
"UH Mhh"
Please don't move anymore!
"UH MHH"
And then I laid my head down
"UUUUH MHHHHHH"
and my pillow got up.

Night night,
– Josie

Can you see through me?

If I woke up one morning
and had a hole in my tummy,
I would call the hospital.

But NOOOOOOO,
I would not let them sew me up,
because that would hurt.

And NOOOOOOO,
they could not staple me together
either.

I think I'd want them to
fill me up with
a big ball of silly putty.

And then, if anyone got too close,
I'd know
because they'd leave a copy of their face on my tummy.

Hey daddy,
get away from
my tummy.

Night night,
–Josie

Learning to read

I am teaching My Baby Monster Kids how to read. Reading is important, but it is hard to learn.

I am teaching My Baby Monster Kids about predicting… looking at the pictures and guessing what is going to happen next.

I am also teaching My Baby Monster Kids to sound out the words… but sometimes they just guess.

They should not guess! They have to sound out the word and predict. That is how you learn to read.

Night night,
–Josie
