Bedtime Stories (Storytelling Library: January, 2006)

I was thinking, if I only had a brain

I can't think when I'm walking. Not even when I'm standing, because then I get distracted and forget what I'm doing.

So I can't think until later… because I let someone borrow the thinks in my brain.

Actually, I really didn't let somebody borrow my thinks, the baby monsters just took them and gave them to their parents.

You see Baby Monster Mom and Baby Monster Dad lost their thinking brains, and they needed to think what the baby monsters could do. And the baby monsters wanted to know what to do before their time ran out.

They're about to go to bed, so I should have my brain back in 11 minutes.

How you get special eyes

You are born with them, but you can take them off and give them away.

I gave mine away a long, long time ago, but I can still see special things… because I made lots of new ones.

I am making them to sell to people who need special eyes.

I make them in grown-up sizes, in big-kids sizes, and in little-baby sizes.

I made my mom special eyes that are purple with pink around. I also make glittery, beaded eyes for my dad. I make all kind of eyes.

I have medical eyes available… if you can't see.

I also have special eyes for seeing inside people's bodies and blood, and really special eyes that can see my mom when she was a little girl.

The best oatmeal recipes

Snack Oatmeal: you make a cookie-dough of oatmeal, sugar, and melted butter. Then you eat it raw instead of baking the cookies.

Breakfast Oatmeal: you cook the oatmeal in the microwave and when it dings, you put butter and milk in it… and sometimes sugar (but only if I'm allowed).

Grandpa Oatmeal: you don't cook the oatmeal, you just mix in a bowl with sugar and milk. It's good for breakfast… or if I don't like what's for dinner, then dinner. It's the way grandpa eats his oatmeal… usually for dinner.

Eyeball Soup: you cook the oatmeal in a microwave safe bowl with blueberries, then stir in butter and milk (and sugar if the blueberries are sour, and I'm allowed).
