Bedtime Stories (Storytelling Library: May, 2006)

I can fly

I learned how to fly in New York,
from Ashley.

I found out about her on the internet
when I was looking for flying lessons.

She came highly recommended.

She taught me to flap my wings,
and now I can go wherever I want to.

I'm gonna fly to America,
to my best friends house,
cause I miss her.

My dad learned how to fly too,
but not from Ashley.

He learned how to fly at the science center
with my uncle.

Maybe he'll visit me.

Have fun,
– Josie

The BIGGEST bubble in the world

Samkabuka was famous all over the world,
cause she made the BIGGEST bubble in the world
when she was 7 years old.

It was really an accident.

Samkabuka wasn't trying to
blow the BIGGEST bubble in the world,
she was just practicing…
learning how to blow bubbles.

First there was more spit than bubbles,
but she was happily, spit blowing — pop –
and spit blowing — pop –
and spit blowing — pop –
away.

Then there was more bubbles than spit,
so she was happily, blow spitting — pop –
and blow spitting — pop –
and blow spitting — pop –
away.

And then there was no spit,
just blowing — no pop –
and blowing — no pop –
and blowing — no pop –
away.

And before Samkabuka knew it,
her bubble went up to her nose — blow –
and then up to her eyes — blow –
and then up to her forehead — blow.

And then it was bigger than her head — blow –
and then it was bigger than her father's head — blow –
and then it was bigger than a rhinoceros' head — blow –
and then it was bigger than an elephant's head — blow –
and then it flew away to outer space.

Have fun,
– Josie

Sleepy Sleepy Summery Day

The Summer is already late
and I am tired of waiting.

It's too cold,
and I'm tired.

The sun is not shinning,
and I'm tired.

It's raining,
and I'm tired.

It's windy,
and I'm tired.

It's tornado-ing,
and I'm tired.

So so tired,
so I do not want to go out to play.

I just want to sleep, sleep, sleep,
this sleepy, sleepy Summery day away.

Have fun,
– Josie

The girl who never ever, never, never ever took a shower

Once upon a time there was a girl,
Elisabeth,
who never took showers.

One day, her mom said,
"Elisabeth, take your shower right now!"
But the girl who never ever, never, never ever took a shower
did not listen.

Instead she decided to take a bath in the toilet…
it was all brown, because
there was chocolate ice cream in the toilet…
and mud…
and poop…

So the girl who never ever, never, never ever took a shower
got very dirty.
Which made her mother mad.

Enjoy,
– Josie

The credit card who got shredded

One day
Baby Monster Bubblegum Boy
shredded his daddy's credit card.

His daddy wasn't very happy,
so
Baby Monster Bubblegum Boy
got punished.

No TV
for 8 months.

So when the other baby monsters
watched TV,
he couldn't…
not for 8 months.

And the first day he got to watch TVTV again,
he was so happy…
but he got punished again.

Have fun,
– Josie
