Bedtime Stories (Storytelling Library: July, 2006)

The present that ran away

The present ran away because it didn't want to be opened
because it wanted the money in its stomach.

The little boy was very sad,
because Santa Claus didn't give him any money.

But Santa Claus said, "I did."

"So where is it?" asked the boy.

"I don't know, maybe it ran away?"

"Presents can't run away," said the little boy.

"Oh yes they can," said Santa.

So they ran after it.

And they found it.

And it was running.

"See!"

Have fun,
– Josie

The boy who didn't like cake

That was Baby Monster Bubblegum Boy.

He didn't like cake because he always chewed bubblegum,
and if he got cake,
he'd have to throw his bubblegum out.

And he'd have to pick it up off his cheek
where it often sat
after a pop-fully big explosion.

And that would be no fun.

So Baby Monster Bubblegum Boy just ate no cake…
because he loved his bubblegum too much.

Oh yeah, and because cake makes him throw up.

Have fun,
– Josie

You are the Candy Maker [storytelling game]

You know everything about being a making candy, so answer the question… there are no wrong answers here.

Candy Maker, what do you get out of your stomach?

I get candy out of my stomach,
and everyday it's a surprise,
because you always find something different.

You see,
On Monday's there's lots of Marshmallows in my stomach,
and on Tuesdays, you'll find lots of Twisty-pops.

On Wednesdays… well,
hmmmmmmm, what was in my tummy on Wednesdays?
Wikorish sticks?
No, it was Wubble gum.

And on Thursday, it's Tongue-twisting Jawbreakers.
And on Friday, Fried Lollypop Rings.
And on Saturday, Squid-sandwich-surprise Popsicles.
And on Sunday, Soapy-soupy-sacky-sooky Gumdrops.

Mr. Candy Maker… how do you make your candy so good?

Well, look at my stomach.

See how much candy there is in it?

Just get yourself a spoon
and scoop out some candy…
right from my belly button.

Any More Questions?

Have fun,
– Josie

What's in the Birthday Boxes? [kids coloring page: 10]

I love birthdays… especially my own. I wonder what's in the boxes. My dad knows, but he won't tell me. He says I have to wait for my party. I hope I get lots of candy.

Did he tell you? I'd love to see your story.
