The Monkey and the Drum [Children's story from India by guest artist]

This great story was written by P. R. Ramachander,
a wonderful storyteller from Bangalore, India.

In the forest near Madras, there was a cute little monkey who could speak and sing. One day it was playing on a tree in a forest.

While jumping from one tree to another, a thorn stuck to its tail. It gave great pain to the monkey. So it went to the town. On its way, it met an uncle with a knife.

The monkey requested him to remove the thorn from its tail. That man agreed, so he tried to remove the thorn using his knife. Unfortunately, the tail got cut.

The monkey became very sad and angry. It told the man, "You have cut my tail with the knife. So you give me the knife. If you don't, I will pinch you."

Pillsbury Cookie Dough [yummy music by guest artist, Paul and Storm]

Lyrics to the delicious "Pillsbury Cookie Dough" song by Paul and Storm

It's four in the morning,
you sneak out of bed
and tiptoe down the stairs.

Go to the kitchen,
leave off the light…
the Pillsbury Cookie Dough is waiting there.

Yeah, you open the door,
take the tube in your hands,
get the scissors down from the shelf.

Peel back the label,
give it a squeeze…
you're gonna eat the whole thing all by yourself.

There's nothing better then a whole darn tube of cookie dough.
Go on and eat it all!

Don't slice it!
Don't cook it!
Don't serve it!
Don't share it!
Go on and eat it all!

Hide the wrapper at the bottom of the trash
and go back to bed filled with shame
and cookie dough
from Pillsbury.

Paul and Storm's music is humorous, satirical, and original.
No subject is sacred to this Lennon/McCartney comedy songwriting team.

The Fox and the Crow and the Camera [not one of Aesop's Fables]

I was taking pictures in the jungle –
Click! Click! Click! –
When I saw a crow –
Caw! Caw! Caw!

So I took some pictures of it –
Click! Caw! Click! Caw! Cli…

But the crow was very smart.
It took my camera,
because he knew what to do with it.
Caw! Caw! Caw!

The crow fixed my camera because it was not working
and he gave it back.
Click! Caw! Click! Caw! Click!

And that made me very happy.
Happy! Happy! Happy!

Have fun,
– Josie

Crow: a very smart black bird… Caw! Caw! Caw! Hey brother crow can you see me below?

One day Lying King met a cheater [Daddy's wild animal story]

One day Lying King met Cheetah Cheater,
so he bopped him on the nose and walked away.

Well Cheetah Cheater did not roar…
Lying King – not cheetahs – roar,
ROAR, ROAR, ROAR!
Cheetahs purr.
Purr, purr, purr.
They purr when they're happy,
and Cheetah Cheater was happy because he was fast.
ZAP… like a flash of lightning,
he knocked Lying King down.

But instead of eating Lying King,
because he didn't want to eat a liar,
he just left him on the ground.
Poor, poor Lying King.

But when people came to see what was wrong,
and to help Lying King up,
you know what he said?

He said, "Oh, I'm not hurt.
I just sat down…
I like being on the ground."

So, no one helped him up.

Have fun,
– The Daddy
