Bedtime Stories (Storytelling Library: February, 2007)
It was night.
Me and my mommy were playing checkers
and it was fun.
I was about to win,
but then mommy got my last piece,
so she won.
Really, she did.
I was about to win,
but then she won,
and she got a prize.
It was a nice prize
and she shared it with me.
Have fun,
– Josie
Checkers: something you play… a game with a board… something you play with someone else… but it doesn't have a queen, that's chess from Alice's "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There."
I'm writing a new children's book about wild animals and wanted to share the art coloring pages I'm using to make it. The book is called Wild Alphabet Stories… fun tails for children and other wild animals.
C is for Cheetah, as in
Cheetah Cheater, the fastest eater.
Had a wife, but couldn't beat her.
Put her in a pumpkin shell…
Hey wait, I'm no cheater.
Why do you think this Cheetah is behind bars?
Did he eat too many Mother Goose nursery rhymes? Will he get time off for zoo-d behavior? I'd love to hear your story.

You're not allowed to smoke
You're not allowed to smoke
You're not allowed to smoke
in the house
You're not allowed to smoke
Or else you're gonna choke
So don't you go and smoke
in the house
Because
Because
it's not healthy
Because
Because
it'll kill you
So you're not allowed to smoke
anywhere!
Have fun,

In the old days, advertisers could say what ever they wanted to, and their were no rules to protect children from lies and harmful products.
Josie lost her voice today, so share your own story.
Have fun,
– The Daddy
One time there was a lizard up in a tree…
and I was climbing up
in that tree,
and i didn't even see it
because it was camouflaged.
OW… it bit my finger!
So I climbed down
and I looked up
to see if there was
anything there.
Nope… so I climbed up again
and OW… it bit me again.
I didn't know what was going on,
so I climbed up a different tree,
but another lizard was up there,
and Ow… it bit me too!
And then the daddy said,
"I didn't know lizards had teeth."
OW! OW! OW! OW!
Have fun,
– Josie
Camouflage: na na na na na, you can't see me… I blend into my surroundings and become almost invisible… like some lizards, like chameleons, like my clothes… you like my clothes?
Once upon a time
there was a snake,
a slithery, slimy, sloppy snake,
and I though it was nice,
so I made it my pet…
but it was a Cobra snake,
and it was venomous, poisonous, dangerous…
but I didn't know what that meant.
So I gave my pet snake some food,
but it didn't like it,
so its skin fell off,
and then I saw it was a cobra snake.
It tried to get me,
but it was trapped in its glass cell.
Have fun,
– Josie
