Bedtime Stories (Storytelling Library: April, 2007)

The poor princess who ate pickles three times

Twice upon a time there was a story called,
The Poor Princess Who Ate Pickles
and a story called
The Poor Princess Who Ate Pickles Too.
These are not those stories.
This is a new and improved Princess Who Ate Pickles.

The Princess Who Ate Pickles
was happier then the second and first princesses who ate pickles.
In fact she was the happiest princess in all the land.

Her name was Princess Peach.
Princess Peach was the happiest because she made it
all the way to the 10th level,
and on each level they beat,
princesses get happier and happier.

One day Princess Peach was walking
and she found a hopping ball,
and three pickles,
and some toys for the little baby she had.

The prince who was not nearly as happy as Princess Peach
because he only made it to level 2
came home and said,
"Where did you get all that stuff?
I want some stuff for my little baby!"

The princess told the prince to go for a walk
on the Prince Walking Street
and there he would find what he was looking for.

So he went,
and he found the same toys as the princess,
but he also found some candy.

Have fun,
– Josie

The poor princess who ate pickles too

Once upon a time there was a story called,
The poor princess who ate pickles.
This is not that story.
This is a new princess who ate pickles,
one, who in the end, conquers the bad guys.

One day, the princess who ate pickles too was walking along,
when all of a sudden she found a little candy,
and a little bread,
and a nice dress,
and a pair of flip flops.

She was so excited, that she went home to the prince and said,
"Look what I've found.
I found all of this on the princess path,
but you should go out on the prince path,
because that's where there're giving the prince stuff away."

So the prince left quickly to get the free stuff,
but then the princess saw the bad guys come towards the prince.

The prince didn't have his sword with him,
so the princess took the prince's sword
and then conquered the bad guys.

Have fun,
– Josie

She Could Be In The Beatles [new, historical, classic rocking music by guest artist, The Mod-est Lads]

Enjoy the lyrics to this new, classic rock song. Music by The Mod-est Lads.

Well she's so clean and cool, she could be in The Beatles.
Yeah, she walks and talks so cool, she could be in The Beatles.
She'll be playing those cool guitars, through cool Vox amplifiers,
and singing along with Moe, and Timmy, and Phil
in The Beatles –
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Wait, wait, wait a minute. Who's that then?
What?
Well, this Moe and Timmy and Phil, who's that?
Wh', that's The Beatles, that is.
That's certainly not The Beatles. They might be the Christmas Jellies.
I know The Beatles!
No, no, no.
I've see them live …
No, The Beatles are Ringo and Paul and George and John.
… on American telly … every Wednesday night …
Oh, you've seen them on the telly.
… singing.
All right, what were they singing then?
they sang like this Å .

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, yeah,
in The Beatles –
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
She'll be just seventeen,
in The Beatles –
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
She's gonna love me do,
in The Beatles –
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
She'll have a ticket to ride,
in The …

When the Fab Four give her the call,
She'll be playing at Albert Hall,
and walking in her bare feet across Abbey Road
in The Beatles –
Yeah, she's gonna hold my hand
in The Beatles –
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, she's gonna be a paperback writer
in The Beatles –
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The taxman leave her alone
in The Beatles –
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And she'll never have a hard day's night
in The Beatles –
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

A rare recording from a lost British rock band who, though destined for superstardom, disbanded after only a few weeks.

Lying King Meets the World's Largest Little Bitty Elephant [Daddy's new children's story]

One day, Lying King was out walking,
and walking,
and walking,
when he saw a little bitty elephant,
so he stepped on it.
SQUASH!

The little bitty elephant then said,
"You squashed me. But it was just a test to see how nice you were.
I am actually the worlds' largest elephant."
And then the World's Largest Little Bitty Elephant grew up –
BLA-BLA-BLA-BLEW
knocking Lying King over –
CRASH
CRASH
CRASHing on his bottom part.

Then the World's Largest Little Bitty Elephant decided
to clean out his trunk
on Lying King,
so he took a little bit of water,
which,
because he was the worlds' largest elephant
was actually the size of a lake.

So the World's Largest Little Bitty Elephant
took the whole lake in his trunk and
he held it up high over his head.
He then looked at Lying King
and went
SWOOSH!

The water shot out of his trunk like an angry waterfall,
but the little bitty elephant wasn't angry…
not anymore.

Have fun,
– The Daddy

The day the Earth lost its electricity

The Earth was flying with electricity.
Electricity was in its mouth.
But then the Earth lost it's electricity,
and it couldn't fly.

"Oh where, oh where is my electricity?" asked Earth.

It looked all over the universe until It found it on the ground.

The Earth then picked up the electricity with its wings,
the wings that looked like fingers (but didn't feel like fingers),
and put it back in its mouth.

Have fun,
– Josie

Electricity: gives power to everything… without it, this story wouldn't be here.
Earth: the third planet from the son, I mean the sun… not to be confused with the earth, which is just soil.
